A blessing for animals less fortunate
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the county, the beasts were awaiting the next morning's great bounty
Chewies and catnip and toys from the store, treats and squeekies and oh, so much more!
But many a heart on this night would be broken, as the next day would bring nothing, no treats, no love token
For animals in cages with no one to care, Christmas means nothing, when there's no one to share
No cookies, no catnip, no snugly beds, no treats and no toys - worst of all - no pats on their heads
But the people of Larimer, they always come through, to help those deserving, in giving their due
Since they can't ask themselves, the animals plead, would I ask for them on this Christmas Eve?
To give where its needed if there's anything more, in your wallet, your checkbook, or your company's store
They need money and cat litter and time if you'd spare, but mostly they need homes and someone to care
Someone to love and with them to play, someone to care for on this Christmas Day
If you have the time, the space or the need, would you be willing to do this good deed?
Please give to the charities that care for our beasts, our wildlife, our livestock, and our animals in need.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!
