Chat Armour tickets to sell out

If you wish to attend the Chat Armour III fundraiser that benefits Fort Collins Cat Rescue, you better hurry. Tickets for the 6 p.m. Feb. 13 event at Drake Center, 802 West Drake Road, must be purchased by 6 p.m. Friday.

Trust me, you'll want to go. I've seen the stuff being auctioned and what it sold for. Dozens of items people use on a regular basis are being offered through the silent auction such as restaurant gift certificates, food baskets, wine, massage, pet food, jewelry, movie tickets and all kinds of both luxury and everyday items. These will go for a fraction of their worth.
The big items, including a weekend getaway, hot air balloon ride, romance package, Martin guitar and a real ghost hunt accompanying real ghost hunters is being offered in the live auction. And the best part is since all these great items were donated, every penny of the proceeds goes toward Fort Collins Cat Rescue and the care of Larimer County's homeless cats.
There are no ticket sales at the door so make sure to purchase your tickets before the deadline by visiting Tickets can be purchased online by going to www.blacktiecolorado.com/rsvp and by entering event code FCCR2/13.
With your $50 ticket, you get a sit-down dinner and an evening of entertainment by Colorado's own Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald, a stand-up comedy artist and emergency veterinarian featured on the popular Animal Planet network.
Dress is Colorado semi-formal, which to me means one step up from jeans and T-shirt. I'll be there as your emcee and auctioneer. I guarantee if anyone comes wearing jeans and cowboy boots I won't make fun of you. Although if that's all you're wearing you might get chilly. It is February.
I promise I'll be in my khakis so don't let the semi-formal scare you off. Wear whatever you are comfortable wearing, bring an appetite and your wallet.
As FCCR prepares for another year of giving back to the community, you can also prepare by bringing an open heart, an open wallet and an open mind. A balloon ride? A romance package? A ghost hunt? All things are possible for those who prepare. I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
