The Olde English Bulldogge is a replication of the Victorian Bulldogge of many years ago. This dog is a healthy, sweet-tempered, but tenacious dog with a fondness for children and a reputation for staunchly defending his master and possessions. A loyal dog, curious, playful and able, the type of dog most people want when they buy an AKC bulldog, but don't get because of the AKC bulldog's numerous health problems. Our Olde English Bulldogges are purebred, registered dogs that are a first-generation cross between the American and English Bulldog. This creates a gene pool of healthy, vigorous puppies with the desirable traits of both parents without the unhealthy and thankfully, recessive, traits carried by the AKC bulldog. Our Olde English Bulldoggs are family dogs, suitable for children, apartments, and life with lots of people in it. We breed for family life suitability. Our dogs are not suitable as police dogs or protection sport. They aren't big enough, for one thing (up to 65 pounds is what we find desirable) and they'll treat everyone they meet with a wagging tail (if they only had a tail, which they don't). Unless the person gives our Olde English Bulldogges reason to think otherwise, everyone is his or her friend. In other words, they are generally only protective when they feel it's necessary. This trait fits very nicely within most families with children. We do not breed high energy dogs, another reason our OEBs do not make good protection-sport candidates. One walk around the neighborhood or a good romp with the kids is enough exercise for them. They then need a nap (on the couch, of course) before dinner, another nice, family-type trait. They don't have a need for a lot of exercise, or shredding the yard or furniture when they don't get it. Can't find your bulldogge? Check the couch. While the neighbors' labs and golden retrievers are running through the neighborhood, you bulldogge will be snoozing in his (or your) favorite chair. Which means he's actually home when the bad guy tries you windows to see if you left them unlocked. Believe me, he'll think twice about jimmying that window when he sees THAT face snarling at him through it. Our Olde English Bulldogges are between 45 and 65 pounds and they come in all colors, depending on which mama dog was used. However, primarily white dogs are the most common. We guarantee our puppies against life-threatening genetic problems. They will be genetically healthy or you get a replacement puppy (as well as getting to keep the original puppy if you desire). We've never had to replace a puppy. The problems our guarantee covers include hip dysplasia, cleft palate, malocclusion, gland hypertrophy, chronic follicular conjunctivitis, tracheal hypoplasia, reflex regurgitation, elbow dysplasia and genetic heart defects. We also guarantee our dogs against temperament flaws. Dogs we breed and sell are to be good family dogs and trustworthy with children or YOU DON'T KEEP IT. We DO NOT want any dogs around children that aren't trustworthy. Again, as I've said, we've never had to replace a puppy, but I want to put it out there that as long as you have trustworthy children, your puppy from Rocky Mountain Rawhide is guaranteed to be trustworthy as well. What we ask for in return is that you socialize your puppy, obedience-train your puppy, make your puppy a member of the family, not just an outside pet, and feed only a good quality dog food as recommended in our contract. Not doing so will void our guarantee. We truly want to offer only the best dogs possible. We also want only the best homes for our puppies. Interested? Check our "Available Puppies" page. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
