Sometimes, people need or want a little extra help in raising a puppy. While having a puppy already litter box trained and as housebroken as their little infant bodies will allow comes with the territory of purchasing a poodle puppy from Rocky Mountain Rawhide, sometimes more training is desired. Crate training, play pen training, and intensive socialization is offered at no charge when we have very small litters of puppies and the time to accomplish these goals. But, we don’t often have small litters. So, if desired, purchasers of puppies can also purchase additional training. For an additional $125 per week, or $20 per day, we will crate train, play pen train, and involve your puppy in endeavors created to get him or her used to all aspects of living as a companion dog. Car rides, shopping malls, leash training. Left alone, taken with, strangers, noises, dog doors, stairs, blow dryers, all potentially scary things for tiny puppies.

Although new owners frequently say that our puppies are the easiest puppy they’ve ever trained, people needing extra help can get it if they want it. Two weeks is recommended for crate and play pen training, four weeks for a puppy that is capable of going all night without having to relieve him/herself at some point during the night (let out of the crate, taken outside or to the litter box, and then put back in the crate). Sometimes puppies as young as nine or ten weeks can go all night without having to relieve themselves, but it’s asking a lot of the infant puppy to do that. Puppies closer to 11 or 12 weeks have an easier time of it.
